About the YES Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a government-led initiative aimed at tackling youth unemployment in South Africa. Eskom, as a strategic partner, offers young people meaningful work exposure that helps build skills, confidence, and employability.

Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in a professional working environment within the energy sector.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be assessed based on:

• Availability to participate in the programme
• Willingness to learn and grow
• Ability to work in a structured environment
• Compliance with Eskom recruitment processes

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• South African citizen
• Aged 18 – 34 years
• Grade 12 / Matric or
  Post-matric qualification / N3 Electrical Engineering
• Must not have been permanently employed for more than 12 months
• Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment
• Must not have participated in the YES Programme previously
