Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnership Programme
The Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnership Programme 2026 combines classroom-based theoretical training with practical workplace experience.
Learners will receive training relevant to their selected engineering trade and gain hands-on exposure in a mining environment.
The programme is particularly suitable for unemployed South Africans who want to build careers in engineering, maintenance and artisan-related occupations.
Upon successful completion of the required training and assessments, learners can work towards obtaining a nationally recognised artisan qualification.

- Auto Electrician – 2 positions
- Millwright – 2 positions
- Measurement Control & Instrumentation – 1 position
Applicants should ensure that they meet the educational and trade-specific requirements before applying.
Valterra Platinum Learnership Requirements
Applicants for the Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnership must meet the minimum academic and technical requirements.
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics, not Mathematical Literacy.
- Physical Sciences and English.
- A minimum mark of 40% in each required Grade 12 subject.
- An N2 qualification or higher, with all four required subjects passed, including Mathematics and Engineering Science, in the relevant engineering discipline.
Alternatively, applicants may have:
- An NCV Level 4 qualification in the appropriate trade.
- A minimum of 40% in all subjects.
Applicants should also ensure that their N2 subjects correspond with the trade for which they are applying.
