GALXBOY Stores Sales Assistant Job Description

The main purpose of the Sales Assistant position is to provide high-quality customer service while contributing to company growth and revenue through effective sales maximisation.

The successful candidate will work directly with customers and assist with various sales floor, stock control, visual merchandising and daily store operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

The GALXBOY Stores Sales Assistant will be responsible for delivering an excellent customer experience. Duties include:

• Greeting customers when they enter the store.
• Assisting customers in finding suitable products.
• Providing accurate product information and recommendations.
• Using upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase sales.
• Working towards improving UPT, ATV, conversion and turnover.
• Understanding and promoting available payment methods, including PAYFLEX, PJN and Happy Pay.
• Representing the GALXBOY brand professionally.
• Following uniform and grooming requirements.
• Maintaining a presentable and professional appearance on the sales floor.

Visual Merchandising

Sales Assistants will also contribute to maintaining an attractive and organised store environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing a good understanding of products and their placement in the store.
• Understanding product materials, care instructions and pricing.
• Steaming, tagging, pricing and hanging merchandise.
• Folding and replenishing products.
• Optimising available store space.
• Following visual merchandising guidelines and practices.
• Helping create a positive shopping experience for customers.

Stock Control

The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate and organised stock areas.

Duties include:

• Keeping the stockroom organised and clean.
• Ensuring products are stored in the correct categories.
• Making products easily accessible to speed up the sales process.
• Informing managers about stock levels.
• Reporting sell-outs and best-selling products.
• Communicating other stock requirements to management.

Daily Operations and Housekeeping

The GALXBOY Stores Sales Assistant will be expected to follow store procedures and contribute to smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Following time and attendance requirements.
• Clocking in and out correctly.
• Reporting late arrivals according to company procedures.
• Following the store roster.
• Processing customer transactions accurately.
• Using the POS system.
• Handling cash responsibly.
• Keeping variance schedules updated.
• Processing credit and debit card transactions.
• Processing other approved payment methods.
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards.
