General Worker \u2013 Job Purpose &amp; Requirements<\/h3>\n<p>These workers will support construction teams with manual labour tasks related to overhead electrical systems on the rail network.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Working Conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>General Workers must be prepared for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Long hours<\/li>\n<li>Confined spaces<\/li>\n<li>Working at heights<\/li>\n<li>Noisy environments<\/li>\n<li>Harsh weather<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Key Duties<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Loading and offloading materials<\/li>\n<li>Clearing and cleaning work areas<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining tools<\/li>\n<li>Assisting technicians<\/li>\n<li>Carrying and erecting 12\u2011metre ladders<\/li>\n<li>Following safety procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Grade 9, OR<\/li>\n<li>6 months relevant work experience<\/li>\n<li>Physically fit<\/li>\n<li>Able to pass a medical examination<\/li>\n<li>Able to communicate in English<\/li>\n<li>Must be safety\u2011conscious<\/li>\n<li>Willing to work in tough outdoor conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>2.
