About the Client Service Officer Position

The Client Service Officer plays an important role within the Department’s Public Employment Services programme. The successful candidates will assist job seekers and employers through the Employment Services South Africa (ESSA) system while supporting employment and training initiatives.

The role involves registering job seekers, capturing work opportunities, referring clients for employment counselling, and providing administrative support to facilitate successful job placements.

This position offers valuable public service experience and exposure to labour legislation and employment services.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

Register Work Seekers on ESSA

  • Register unemployed individuals on the Employment Services South Africa (ESSA) system.
  • Capture and maintain accurate client information.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental procedures.

Register Employment and Learning Opportunities

  • Capture available job opportunities on ESSA.
  • Register learning and training opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate employment records.

Employment Counselling Referrals

  • Refer job seekers for employment counselling services.
  • Guide clients on available employment programmes and services.
  • Assist job seekers in accessing suitable opportunities.

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support for placement activities.
  • Manage and maintain records and documentation.
  • Perform general office administration duties.

Community Outreach and Advocacy

  • Participate in awareness campaigns and advocacy programmes.
  • Promote departmental services within communities.
  • Assist with public information sessions when required.
