Prisma Training Solutions, in partnership with the Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA), has officially opened applications for the General Technical Practice Learnership Programme 2026.

The programme is supported by the Rustenburg Local Municipality and aims to equip unemployed youth with foundational technical knowledge, practical workplace skills, and a nationally recognised qualification.

About the General Technical Practice Learnership

The General Technical Practice Learnership combines theoretical training with practical workplace exposure to help participants develop essential technical and employability skills.

Learners will work towards obtaining a General Education and Training Certificate: General Technical Practice (NQF Level 1), a qualification designed to introduce participants to technical environments and workplace readiness.

For many young job seekers, this qualification serves as a stepping stone towards future learnerships, apprenticeships, skills development programmes, and entry-level employment opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the EWSETA and Prisma Technical Practice Learnership Programme 2026, applicants must:

• Be between the ages of 18 and 34 years
• Have a Grade 10 qualification
• Have Mathematical Literacy at ABET Level 3
• Have Communication at ABET Level 3
• Be unemployed
• Reside within the targeted Rustenburg communities
• Be willing to participate fully in both theoretical and practical training

The programme specifically targets unemployed youth residing in the following Rustenburg communities:

• Phokeng
• Paardekraal
• Sunrise Park
• Boitekong
• Meriting
