General Worker Job Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to support fleet operations by ensuring accurate fuel management, vehicle inspections, stock control, and workshop assistance. The successful candidate will also assist with truck movements within the company premises.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring that vehicles remain operational and ready for daily distribution activities.
Key Responsibilities
Fuel Management
- Refuel all Sasko fleet vehicles
- Record fuel issued accurately
- Allocate fuel to the correct vehicle and route
- Monitor fuel stock levels in the bowser
- Assist during fuel deliveries and refilling processes
- Verify fuel quantities received from suppliers
Vehicle Inspections
- Conduct daily fuel, oil, and water checks
- Top up oil and water when required
- Record vehicle ODO (odometer) readings daily
- Report new vehicle damages to the Mechanic or Vehicle Manager
- Ensure fleet vehicles remain in good operational condition
Stock Control Support
- Perform daily fuel dips
- Report fuel stock levels to the Stock Control Clerk
- Assist in maintaining accurate fuel inventory records
Truck Shunting Duties
- Move trucks safely within the yard area
- Shunt feeder trucks as required
- Ensure vehicles are positioned correctly for loading, unloading, or maintenance
Workshop Assistance
- Support workshop staff with daily activities
- Assist mechanics when required
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment
