Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of an ABET qualification/Grade 8,9,10,12
  • No previous work experience.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual duties.
  • A willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Food Service Aid

Successful candidates will:

  • Clean kitchens (galleys) and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain hygiene in food preparation areas.
  • Clean dining halls.
  • Wash kitchen utensils, cutlery, pots and equipment.
  • Assist with unloading and storing food supplies.
  • Help prepare dining areas.
  • Assist with basic food preparation where required.

Groundsman

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining gardens and outdoor areas.
  • Planting trees, flowers and shrubs.
  • Watering lawns and landscaped areas.
  • Cutting grass and removing weeds.
  • Removing refuse and alien vegetation.
  • Operating lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws and other gardening equipment.
  • Preparing grounds for official functions and parades.
  • Inspecting and maintaining gardening equipment.

Household Aid

Successful applicants will:

  • Clean living quarters and communal facilities.
  • Clean bathrooms and shared areas.
  • Perform laundry duties.
  • Wash and maintain linen and clothing.
  • Maintain hygiene standards.
  • Assist with housekeeping functions.

Messenger

Messenger duties include:

  • Delivering and collecting official documents.
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Distributing files and parcels.
  • Updating document registers.
  • Assisting registry services.
  • Operating office equipment such as photocopiers and fax machines.
  • Safeguarding official documents.
