Learnership Overview

Glencore is offering Engineering Learnerships aimed at providing unemployed youth with practical training and technical skills in the mining and engineering sectors. The programme combines structured theoretical learning with hands-on workplace experience at Glencore’s operations, allowing participants to develop competencies in engineering trades while working towards a recognised trade qualification.

Through mentorship and on-site training, learners gain valuable exposure to mining operations and engineering practices, helping them build a strong foundation for a career as a qualified artisan in the industry.

Available Learnerships

The following learnership opportunities are open for Applications:

Pre-Learner – Generic Engineering Skills Programme

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Math’s, Physical Science and English (40% and above).
  • Medically fit for high-risk area

18.2 Engineering Learnerships

Available trades: Boilermaker, Fitter, Electrician, Auto Electrician, Instrumentation, Rigger and Diesel Mechanic

Requirements: 

  • Full N2 with relevant Trade Theory.
  • Medically fit.
  • Proficiency in English
