The Limpopo Department of Health is committed to nurturing future generations of skilled healthcare professionals, and the Diploma in Nursing program is a vital part of this mission. Applications for the 2025 intake are now open, offering aspiring nurses an opportunity to embark on a rewarding career dedicated to serving the health needs of the community.
Applications are hereby invited from suitable candidates for the 3-year Diploma in Nursing: General (Government Notice R.171 of 8 March 2013) for the academic year 2025, including the Enrolled Nurses Category for Recognition of Prior Learning.
Admission requirements
- Must be a South African citizen, who resides in Limpopo Province.
- Must have a school leaving certificate: Senior Certificate with endorsement (Matric Exemption) or National Senior Certificate – Bachelor’s Degree Pass or currently in Grade 12.
- A minimum of 24 points on Rating Scale, excluding Life Orientation •
Minimum Requirements for Compulsory Subjects:
- English HG-D or Level 4
- Biology/Life Sciences HG-D or Level 4
- Physical Science HG-D or Level 4
- Mathematics HG-D or Level 4
- Mathematics Literacy Level 5 C)
Note: Current Grade 12 learners must meet the National Senior Certificate requirements in their Grade 11 results. After the announcement of the National Senior Certificate end of year results, the candidates must submit the Statement of Results to the Limpopo College of Nursing, at 34 Hans Van Rensburg Street, Polokwane. D) The applicant must be a South African citizen and must provide Proof of Residence and an Identity Document. E) The Enrolled category i.e. Enrolled Nurses and Enrolled Nursing Auxiliaries must complete both Application Form, Rating Scale and RPL Form and pay a non-refundable fee of R300 (i.e. R150 for application and R150 for RPL process)
