Key Responsibilities
Successful learners will assist pharmacists and dispensary teams with a range of responsibilities, including:
- Selling Schedule 1 medicines and scheduled substances under supervision.
- Assisting with the preparation and compounding of non-sterile medicines.
- Unpacking, organizing, and merchandising dispensary stock.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the dispensary.
- Learning to accurately interpret prescriptions.
- Picking, packing, labeling, and checking medication.
- Monitoring medication dosages and drug interactions.
- Managing stock control and expiry date checks.
- Following up with patients regarding prescriptions and appointments.
- Assisting with call centre and patient support services.
- Promoting health awareness and providing health information.
- Assisting with chronic medication, HIV/AIDS, and oncology authorizations.
